Harrison County looks to identify body found in Missouri

October 20, 2003 By admin

Harrison County authorities are trying to identify a body discovered in the Missouri River Sunday morning. Harrison County Sheriff Terry Baxter says a person fishing in the river found the body. He says the body was badly decomposed and had been in the water for quite some time. Baxter says they’re trying to run down some leads on the identity of the body. He says they’re looking at missing persons reports. He says they don’t know a cause of death and don’t have a lot of other information. He says they have sent the body to Des Moines for an autopsy. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has been called in to help local officials.
