McCarney wants seniors to go out on good note

October 21, 2003 By admin

Iowa State coach Dan McCarney wants to see his seniors have success before this season comes to an end. The Cyclones take a five-game losing streak into Saturdays game at number-11 Nebraska. McCarney says while disappointed with the season to this point the coaches will continue to work hard. This will be Iowa State’s third road game but the atmosphere will be nothing like the first two. He says you don’t understand until you get there and hear and see it. Iowa State won last year’s game in Ames and McCarney hopes that is a plus this weekend. He says it’s good to have a team that’s experienced a win over Nebraska, as he knows how tough the game will be. McCarney says they’ve been embarrassed the last several times they’ve been to Nebraska.
