Harkin first to use new website devoted to senior citizens

October 23, 2003 By admin

Iowa Senator Tom Harkin became the first person to search a new governmental website this morning, launching the site devoted to helping senior citizens and people with disabilities. Harkin says the site is a joint effort of several agencies, including: the National Institute on Aging, the National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health. Harkin says the website offers a wealth of information about health and other senior issues in addition to giving tips about how to become pros at surfing the Internet. The site has large print and high-contrast print options and will be sound-based for people with vision problems. The address is: “NIHSeniorHealth.gov”.
