One of Iowa’s top Democrats says it was a “big mistake” for two Democrat presidential candidates to dump their Iowa campaigns this week. Senator Tom Harkin says fellow Senator Joe Lieberman and retired General Wesley Clark are missing a huge opportunity to showcase themselves.Harkin says it’s a “terrible miscalculation” amidst reports Lieberman’s campaign is in dire financial straights while Clark’s campaign is “in total disarray.”Harkin says “Iowa is a key state. It’s a swing state. It’s a state where someone can show what kind of appeal they have and how well they can organize and motivate people. That’s what a president is about.”
