A Southwestern Community College student is charged with making the recent bomb threat that cleared out the men’s dormitory of the Creston school. 18-year-old Marchel Turner of Creston was arrested Monday on charges of providing false information to law enforcement. Bill Taylor, director of student services at Southwestern, says Turner knows he made a bad choice. Turner is a basketball player at Southwestern and has been suspended for three games. Taylor says Turner faces a variety of other punishments. He will have to perform community service, will be on disciplinary probation and will have to meet with counselors. Taylor says Turner -will- remain a student.Turner was issued a police citation to appear on the charge.
