The quarterfinal round of the high school football playoffs continue this evening with action in class 2A and 3A. At the UNI-Dome there is a class 2A showdown featuring fifth-ranked Aplington-Parkersburg and Center Point-Urbana. Aplington-Parkersburg coach Ed Thomas says these two teams have similar styles. He says he’s know their coach for many years and says they won’t beat themselves and are a disciplined team that likes to run the football. Center Point coach Ted Rogers says he’d had trouble putting together a game plan. He says, “We’ll probably pray alot.” He says it’s hard to find a weakness in Aplington-Parkersburg. Rogers says they’ll hunt and peck and hopefully come up with a big play that changes the game.
