Gasoline prices have fluctuated very little in Iowa lately. The new survey from Triple-A Motor Club finds only a few cents change in the statewide average since mid-October, according to spokeswoman Dawn Duffy. Iowa’s current average is a dollar-45 a gallon. Last month, it was a dollar-47. A year ago, it was a dollar-45. Duffy says several factors are coming into play that are keeping prices stable. Nationally, she says inventories are in better shape and crude oil prices are down. With Thanksgiving two weeks from tomorrow, Duffy says there may be a slight bump in gas prices soon, but not much of one. The national average for a gallon of gas is now a dollar-50, a nickel more than in Iowa. The national average fell five-cents since mid-October but is four-cents higher than a year ago.
