Iowa State has only two more chances to claim a Big 12 victory. The Cyclones are 2-8 after a 44-10 loss in their home finale to Colorado and visit a Kansas team this weekend that with a victory would become bowl eligible. I-S-U coach Dan McCarney says they’re very impressive on tape and are playing very hard with a lot to play for. The offense continued to struggle against Colorado and McCarney says the Cyclones need to find some success early in Saturday’s game. He says any type of positive that can get would be something to build on. In his second year at the helm Mark Mangino hopes to take Kansas to a bowl game, and says he expects Iowa State to be ready to play. Mangino says the players know what’s at stake, but he says they’re not going to do anything different. He say his kids are smart enough to understand what’s going on.
