Crash closes highway near Algona

November 19, 2003 By admin

Traffic’s moving again near Algona after a crash forced the closing of a highway about four -thirty this (Wednesday) morning. A semi accident blocked both lanes of US Highway 169 north of Algona for about seven hours when the driver lost control. The Kossuth County sheriff’s department says the driver, whose name hasn’t been released, was hauling meat intended for the nearby Hormel plant in Algona. It was to have been made into pepperoni, but instead was offloaded and taken to a rendering plant.
