Another Guard unit gets call

November 21, 2003 By admin

Another unit of the Iowa National Guard has been ordered to active duty. The 767th Firefighting Team is trained to offer protection at locations like airfields and logistical support bases. Based at Camp Dodge, the team of about fifteen soldiers will begin processing December 18 at the armory there and load equipment for moving. The vehicles and other gear the soldiers use will be taken when they learn where they’re heading on the 21st of December for mobilization. Most Iowa guard troops have gone to Fort McCoy in Wisconsin or Fort Riley Kansas. After that it’s on to active duty at an assignment location that has not yet been announced.
