Iowa men win basketball opener

The Iowa basketball team opened the season with a flash by roaring past North Carolina-Asheville 107-80 in a game they never trailed. Pierre Pierce sat out last season after pleasing guilty to an assault charge, but he returned for his first regular season game Sunday and scored 26-points. He says he’s been waiting for the first game just to get it over with. Pierce says it felt good to get out there. Pierce says the year away gave him a new perspective on the game. He says the year away made him hungrier as he says he realized how can take things for granted sometimes. Iowa returns to action at home tomorrow night against Drake.
