The Iowa State Cyclones will try to end a disappointing season on a positive note when they visit Missouri on Saturday. The Cyclones are 2-9 on the season and need a win to avoid a winless Big-12 campaign. I-S-U coach Dan McCarney says the players will be ready based on practice as he says they’re not worried about what they did or didn’t do, they’re just ready to go and play a game on t-v.McCarney says the final game of the season is the one the players remember the longest, as he says the underclassmen know they won’t pull the pads on again until March, while many of the seniors won’t put on pads every again. McCarney says too many young players were called into action this season because of mistakes in a couple of recruiting classes. He says they’re paying for those mistakes with guys who never made it. He says those are evaluations that should have been done better by him and his staff. He says when you throw in a schedule that includes 10 bowl teams, he says it’s not hard to figure out why things haven’t turned out very well.
