The Northern Iowa football team opens the one-double-a national playoffs at home Saturday night against Montana State. The Panthers finished 9-2 and won the Gateway Conference title but they did not earn one of the top four seeds in the playoffs. Montana State was part of a three-way tie for the Big Sky Conference title and U-N-I coach Mark Farley says a high scoring game is likely. He says he anticipates a lot of yardage and some turnovers as both offenses go up and down the field. Farley says he’s not disappointed they only get one home game, as he says any team that wants to win it all will have to win some games on the road.
