Fire hits another Des Moines business

December 4, 2003 By admin

Des Moines firefighters tackled another business blaze this morning, the third one in a week. The latest fire demolished a furniture store before it opened on the capitol city’s northwest side. A passerby stopped a policeman and reported the blaze at “Priced Just Right” furniture, where damage is estimated at $200,000. Investigators say the cause of the fire does NOT appear to be suspicious. That’s NOT the case with two other recent fires. Arson IS suspected in the blaze that damaged the Burlington Coat Factory outlet during the busy day after Thanksgiving shopping rush. Two evacuees were injured. Also, the Conway Pallet Company lost hundreds of wooden pallets in an arson fire with $15,000 damage.
