An eastern Iowa woman has been ousted for stealing from her employer. The Maquoketa Public Housing Board voted last night to fire executive director Miriam Brown, who admitted this week she took about $50,000 in funds for her own use since the end of the 2002 fiscal year. Brown said she’s already repaid some of the money and plans to repay the rest. The Department of Housing and Urban Development will investigate the incident.
