More snow is on the way

December 9, 2003 By admin

The cold rain is changing to snow in parts of Iowa already and forecasters say much of the state will see flakes fly later today. A Winter Storm Warning covers much of Iowa, starting at 3 this afternoon and running through tomorrow morning. Frank Boksa , a meteorologist at the National Weather Service, says the bulk of the storm system is moving up from Oklahoma and Kansas. Boksa says the storm will arrive in Iowa this afternoon, bringing some areas heavy snow laden with moisture. He says it’s starting already as light rain and light snow. He says the heaviest snow will be along and south the Mason City to Boone to Creston line. Forecasters say accumulation may range from two to eight inches.
