We won’t know until this afternoon who’ll become the new sheriff of Webster County. Due to the blizzard, some election workers couldn’t make it to the courthouse in Fort Dodge after the polls closed last night and the county auditor had to call the Secretary of State with an election emergency. Voters chose between two deputies, James Stubbs and Brian Mickelson. Former Sheriff Chuck Griggs resigned in September. Former Sheriff Griggs was found unfit to stand trial yesterday, due to his health. He’s accused of spending more than ten-thousand dollars in county money on a variety of personal items.
