Military rocket found under trailer in Northwest Iowa

December 13, 2003 By admin

A piece of powerful military equipment was unearthed in northwest Iowa. Rock Rapids police say they helped remove a live rocket from under an unoccupied trailer home on Wednesday. Officials say the weapon appears to be one used by the U.S. military. It contained about one pound of C-four explosives. The weapon was normally fired from a helicopter. It’s been taken to what authorities describe as a “safe place” to be detonated. Authorities believe the weapon was a souvenir of the person who lived in the trailer, a man who died a couple of months ago in a traffic accident.
