Mount Ayr plant to close

December 17, 2003 By admin

It may be the season of red and green, but some Iowans at a southwest Iowa plant are getting pink slips. The Miracle Recreation Equipment plant in Mount Ayr will close December 31st, affecting 32 jobs. Production is being moved to plants in Monett and Advance, Missouri. The company is the nation’s largest manufacturer of children’s park and recreation equipment. The most famous of the products made include the plastic and fiberglass statues of McDonald’s characters across the nation. The Mount Ayr plant most recently was making playground equipment, park equipment, and spectator seating for gymnasiums and sports fields.
