UNI coach happy with record despite some close loses

December 17, 2003 By admin

UNI basketball coach Greg McDermott thought his team would have more wins at this point, but despite that is happy with the progress. He says they let a couple of close games get away, such as ISU and Butler, but he says they experiences made them better in the next games. The Panthers have won their last two games and are shooting the ball better, soemthing he says they did well in the first four games, and then had a lull until late in the Iowa game. He says they’ll continue to shoot, as that’s the way they play. Eric Crawford is playing better as of late and McDermott says he and the other young players are a key to their success. UNI opens Missouri Valley Coinference play this weekend against Illinois State.
