Cedar Rapids cop injured in accident

An eastern Iowa lawman is recovering from a crash. A Cedar Rapids police officer was hurt in an early-morning accident while trying to clear a previous semi/car crash on Interstate 380. Officer Michael Hass was treated and released from a Cedar Rapids hospital earlier today after a car driven by John Podhajsky of Des Moines collided with Hass’ parked patrol car. Podhajsky faces charges including: failure to control a vehilce, driving while barred and failure to show proof of insurance.
