Le Mars makes pitch to Wells

December 19, 2003 By admin

The latest proposal for a new Wells Dairy headquarters in northwest Iowa is coming from the company’s current hometown. Jeff Peters, president of the LeMars area economic development board, says the city’s proposal will insure a future relationship with the dairy.Peters says the proposal will work well with a state package which Governor Vilsack presented to Wells officials last week. He say they don’t know exactly what the state’s package is, but says they feel it will meld very well with the state package.Wells has also received proposals from Sioux City, South Sioux City, Nebraska, and Dakota Dunes, South Dakota. A decision on the new home of Blue Bunny ice cream is expected by summer.
