Iowa basketball coach Steve Alford is counting on a healthy Glen Worley when the Hawks begin Big Ten action. The senior forward has missed a good portion of the non-conference schedule with a broken finger but had 12 points in Monday’s loss to Texas Tech. Alford says Worley worked awfully hard, but isn’t in top notch shape physically or mentally because he was off for so long. Alford says Worley needs to get as many minutes as possible. Iowa is 6-2 and Worley says the players need to come back from the break ready to go. The Hawks return to action at home December 30th against Eastern Illinois.
