December 29, 2003 By admin

Iowa’s Miss Basketball has decided to play closer to home. Deb Remmerde is leaving the Iowa basketball team and will transfer to Northwestern College in Orange City. Remmerde is Iowa’s all-time leading scorer after leading Rock Valley to three consecutive state titles, but she had appeared in only two games with the Hawkeytes after suffering a stress fracture in her foot during pre-season practice. in a statement, iowa coach Lisa Bluder said that while she regrets Remmerde’s decision to leave, she understands her desire to be closer to home.
