Snow keeps road crews busy again

February 2, 2004 By admin

Snow plowing crews across much of Iowa are getting plenty of overtime today as they did through most of last week. From Webster City in north-central Iowa, Hamilton County engineer Dennis Short says this latest snowfall has kept his snow removal teams very busy. He says if the wind comes up later it “could get kinda ugly.”While a half-foot of snow fell on parts of Iowa on Sunday, forecasters say up to six more inches may fall by this afternoon. The storm prompted the closing of schools in many areas, while other schools were only delayed an hour or two.
