Slick roads brought a scare for passengers on a charter bus in eastern Iowa Monday. The bus slid off Interstate 80 near Iowa City, went down a gully, and slammed sideways into a row of trees. The bus came to rest about 30 feet from the Iowa River. Police say two of the 30 passengers on the bus received minor injuries, but weren’t hospitalized. The Peoria charter was one of three buses taking passengers to visit the John Deere Engine Works in Waterloo. Officials say one of the other buses picked up the stranded passengers.
