Drake and UNI have opponents for the Bracket Busters Series on February 21st. The Bulldogs will make a visit to Akron. The series matches several teams from the so-called mid-major conferences that don’t get as much television exposure. Drake coach Tom Davis says the benefits at the top of the league are obvious, but he says it also benefits the rest of the teams with some unique scheduling. The Panthers will also be on the road with a trip to Wisconsin-Green Bay. UNI coach Greg McDermott says it’s a good draw as they have a strong rivalry with Wisconsin-Green Bay dating back to the time when the used to be in the same conference. McDermot says they’ve played in two of the last three years, and probably should be playing every year. His team is making a second straight appearance in the Bracket Busters. He says the negative for them is it’s not a television game, and when the Bracket Busters started that was one of their goals to position themselves to play in one of the nationally televised games. He says they were in that position until last week.UNI returns to action tomorrow night at Creighton. Drake is at home tomorrow against Indiana State.
