Dual deaths in Iowa City could be murder-suicide

February 9, 2004 By admin

Autopsies are expected to be performed today on the bodies of two Iowa City men, found dead in a local business over the weekend. Police say it appears to be a murder-suicide. One of the victims, 48-year-old Mark Bean, owned the business, Embroidery Royale, where the bodies were found after police were summoned by gunshots Saturday night. Investigators say Bean had been shot and killed but didn’t elaborate on the other man’s cause of death — he’s identified as 39-year-old Keith Odle. Police are not commenting on a possible motive. Reports say the men were neighbors on the same Iowa City cul-de-sac, both were married, Bean had two children, Odle had four.
