Minnesota woman charged in Iowa crash

February 12, 2004 By admin

A Minnesota woman is charged with vehicular homicide in connection with a fatal accident in Waterloo last summer. Kelly Dillon-Love turned herself in to Black Hawk County authorities on Wednesday. Waterloo police filed the felony charge against the 41-year-old Minneapolis woman this week after completing a seven-month investigation. Officials say Dillon-Love was driving 43 miles-per-hour in a 30 zone when her motorcycle crashed on July 5th, injuring her and killing her passenger, Vicky Hershkovitz — also of Minneapolis. Court records show Dillon-Love’s blood-alcohol level at the time of the crash was point-zero-nine-seven percent. The accident happened just days after Iowa lowered its legal drunk driving standard to zero-point-eight percent. The two women were in the Cedar Valley for a motorcycle club cookout. Dillon-Love is now in the Black Hawk County Jail on 25-thousand dollars bond.
