State Troopers hurt in accident

February 17, 2004 By admin

Three people were injured, including two State Troopers in a crash near Iowa City this morning. The State Patrol says the troopers were driving near the Johnston County Fairgrounds around eight A.M. when a car suddenly swerved into their lane and collided head on with their patrol car. Trooper Jagat Sandhu, the driver of the patrol car, and passenger Trooper Tracy VenderWiel were both listed in stable condition. A news release from the Patrol says the driver of the other car has not been identified, and his condition is not known. The Patrol says both cars were extensively damaged in the accident.
