Hundreds of hallowed hounds and their handlers are in northeast Iowa this weekend for the Dubuque Kennel Club Dog Show. Organizer Judy Thill says the canines are in her community from across the country, many of which most Iowans will have never seen before. They’ll have chihuahuas which measure only five inches tall to the Irish wolfhounds which are nearly three-feet at the shoulder. Thill says the show begins this (Saturday) morning. The show starts with 903 dogs of nearly 100 breeds that will be judged in seven rings all day long. Thill says they’ll narrow down some winners early this afternoon. The dog show continues tomorrow (Sunday) at the Seven Flags Center in Dubuque. For more information, surf to “www.cityofdubuque.org”.
