Police look for clues in Davenport man’s death

March 23, 2004 By admin

An autopsy will be done on a man found dead in Davenport. Police in the Quad Cities identified the man found in a vacant house as 44-year-old Joseph Russel Morgan, and say he had no permanent address. Though there was no indication of foul play, there also was no sign what caused the man’s death, so for now they’ll handle it as a suspicious case. The abandoned house where the man’s body was found Sunday evening is barely a block from Davenport’s Schricker Apartments, where police are called hundreds of times a year to complaints of drug dealing, violence and gunfire.
