ISU loses in overtime in the Big Apple

March 31, 2004 By admin

A thriller last night in New York City. Jake Sullivan sent the game to overtime with a three, but his three-pointer at the end of the extra session came up short as Iowa State fell to Rutgers 84-81 in the semifinals of the N-I-T. Sullivan’s shot was part of a second half in which the Cyclones rallied from a ten point deficit. He says he finally got a clean look to hit a shot to send the game into overtime, but says they didn’t have enough to pull it out. It was the final game of Sullivan’s career and ISU ends it with a record of 20-13. He says it was one of his goals to get the team back on the right track, and he says he hopes the underclassman can keep it going and carry it the rest of the way.
