An autopsy is scheduled today on the body of an elderly eastern Iowa man, found last night in a Davenport lagoon. Police say a caller reported seeing the body floating in the lagoon between Credit Island Park and South Concord Street, along the Mississippi River in west Davenport. Emergency crews responded and pulled the body ashore. Identification was found on the body, identifying the 70-year-old man from Davenport, but his name hasn’t been released, pending confirmation of the I.D. and notification of kin. Pending results of the autopsy, investigators say the death is being considered suspicious.
