All-Star Wrestling meet is this weekend in Charles City

Lineups for the North-South All-Star wrestling meet have been set. The 27th annual event hosted by the Charles City Jaycees will take place at 6:30 this Saturday night at the Charles City High School gymnasium. Meet organizer Darin Mitchell says some of the best names of high school wrestling have participated in the meet in the past. Mitchell says there are a number of successful wrestlers coming to this year’s meet from all over the state.Mitchell says the All-Star meet several times have given two state champions a chance to meet for the first time. Coaches for the all-star squads will be Tom Kettman of Don Bosco, Dick Kennedy of Webster City, and Ed Birnbaum of Fort Dodge. Doors open at 5:30 with the meet starting at 6:30. Tickets are on sale at the door for five dollars.
