Former Drake golfer makes his way on the PGA

April 2, 2004 By admin

Former Drake golfer Zach Johnson is off to a good start at the PGA’s Bell South Classic near Atlanta. The Cedar Rapids native shot a three under par-69 in Thursday’s opening round. He says he’s been able to get the ball on the fairway and then he gets a chance to make some puts. Johnson has been playing well as of late. He finished 13th at the Honda and was sixth at the Bayhill Classic in his last tournament. Johnson says he’s not used to playing this early. He started out slow, then took a week off to work on his game.
