Wartburg softball looks for another trip to nationals

The Wartburg softball team hopes to return to the division three national tournament this season. The Lady Knights are 20-2 on the season and first-year coach Kara Kehe inherited an experienced squad. She says their eyes were opened with their trip to the world series, and she says that’ll make a difference this year.Kehe says the Iowa Conference race will be as tough as expected. Wartburg opened the league race over the weekend by splitting a doubleheader with Central. She says last year they played a doubleheader at the end of the year to determine what would happen, and this year it was at the start of the season.Kehe played at Wartburg and says that and her experience as head coach at Tri-State of Indiana helped the transition to her current job.Wartburg returns to action Wednesday at Coe.
