Virginia company to expand in Waterloo

April 8, 2004 By admin

A Virginia-based company’s announced plans to build a big distribution center in Waterloo. Ferguson enterprises will build a 21-million dollar, 608-thousand square-foot facility in Waterloo’s northeast industrial park. The company plans to hire 180 full-time workers. Based in Newport News, Virginia, Ferguson enterprises is the county’s largest wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating, and air-conditioning supplies. Construction on the Waterloo center is scheduled to begin next month, and they expect to finish in about 10 months. The new distribution center will serve clients in Iowa and other parts of the midwest, as well as Canada. City officials say the distribution center is the largest single industrial project in Waterloo in 16 years.
