Oelwein man charged with receiving child pornography

April 12, 2004 By admin

An Oelwein business owner is charged with receiving child pornography. 35-year-old Ronald Meyer was charged with one federal count of receipt of child pornography. The indictment alleges that on or about April 6th, 2004, Meyer knowingly received video tapes showing people under the age of 18 engaging in sexually explicit conduct. The affidavit filed in federal court in Cedar Rapids alleges Meyer had the tapes mailed to the business he owns, Stranges Tire in Oelwein. Meyer made his initial court appearance Friday, and is scheduled to appear in court again June 7th.
