Forest City soldier injured in Iraq

April 13, 2004 By admin

A soldier from northern Iowa has been badly hurt in the war in Iraq. Lance Corporal Jeff Lindsey of Forest City is a machine gunner with the U.S. Marines’ Echo Company. The 21-year-old has been stationed in the central Iraq province of Al Anbar. His caravan was hit by roadside bombs on Saturday. Lindsey was blown from his vehicle and has head wounds. He was hospitalized in Iraq in serious condition. Lindsey’s mother says a dozen soldiers from Lindsey’s unit were killed in last week’s assault on Fallujah.
