Defiance woman accused of killing husband remarries

April 15, 2004 By admin

The western Iowa woman who’s charged in the shotgun slaying of her first spouse now has a second one. A Shelby County woman accused of killing her husband and hiding his body for more than a year has remarried. 36-year-old Dixie Shanahan of Defiance recently married 43-year-old Jeffrey Duty of Ida Grove at the Crawford County courthouse in Denison. Shanahan-Duty is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting of her then-husband 40-year-old Scott Shanahan nearly two years ago. The case goes to trial next week.
