Iowa and ISU ready for Spring games

Spring drills come to a close tomorrow for Iowa and Iowa State. The Hawkeyes are looking to replace several standouts from last year’s team that won the Outback Bowl. A solid nucleus returns and that has Hawkeye fans optimistic.Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz who says each season offers a new challenge.Ferentz says they will follow a similar script as last spring and not expose running back Jermelle Lewis to injury.Iowa State end spring practice with an intrasquad game in Jack Trice Stadium. The red team will includes the first and fourth teamers against the white squad of second and third teamers.I-S-U coach Dan McCarney says the kicking game will be limited.Redshirt freshman Bret Meyer will quarterback the red squad.
