Iowa Wesleyan mens’ coach becomes womens’ coach

After being part of a mens’ coaching staff that has enjoyed success Steve Williamson hopes to turn around the women’s basketball program at Iowa Wesleyan College. Williamson takes over a team that posted a 4-27 record this past season. He says that was one of the challenges, trying to rebuild.Williamson played at Iowa Wesleyan and was part of a team that set a school record for victories. This past season as an assistant coach for the mens team the Tigers made it to the N-A-I-A national tournament. He says some of the things from that mens’ team can apply, but the biggest thing is recruiting. Williamson admits he will need to adjust to the womens’ style of play. He says there’s a difference in athleticism
