Vilsack says he didn’t talk V-P with J-K

Iowa’s Governor and First Lady spent time driving in a car with John Kerry and Kerry’s wife yesterday, but Governor Tom Vilsack insists it was not an interview for a job as Kerry’s runningmate.Vilsack says he talked to Teresa Heinz Kerry about the N-F-L draft. The Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Steelers field is named for Teresa Heinz Kerry’s first husband, and Vilsack is a Pittsburgh native. Vilsack says that was it — there was no discussion of his chances of being Kerry’s veep. Vilsack says he has “no control” over the speculation.Vilsack says the way the game’s played, if he says something, then “everybody interprets it” so he’s sticking to talking about his current job — being Iowa’s Governor.
