It was a busy morning for Cedar Rapids firefighters, who extinguished three fires that broke out early today, including one that damaged a high school. Classes are being held at Jefferson High School today, despite damage caused by one of the fires. Authorities say someone broke into the school early this morning and started the fire in the main office. Crews quickly extinguished the blaze, but not before several offices were damaged. The other fires broke out about a half-hour apart across the street from each other. One fire destroyed a garage; the other damaged a vacant house that was being fixed up. Officials don’t know if any of the fires are related. All three remain under investigation. no injuries were reported.
