With his expected release from the St. Louis Rams approaching, former UNI quarterback Kurt Warner is looking for a new team. The two-time NFL’s Most Valuable Player visited with the New York Giants on Tuesday and is expected to be let go by the Rams June 1st due to salary-cap reasons. Others teams rumored to be interested include Chicago, Oakland, and San Francisco. Warner’s agent Mark Bartlesteen was asked if Warner has a preference where he plays next season? He says it’s hard to get the perfect situation since every team has a quarterback. He says Warner wants to play, so they’ll look at all the factors and try to find the best fit.Bartlesteen says that Warner, who was the MVP of the 1999 Super Bowl when the Rams won the NFL title, is eager to show he can still play in the league. He says Warner was ready last year, and is looking forward to a fresh start.Warner’s fate in St. Louis was sealed last month when Rams coach Mike Martz declared Marc Bulger was the team’s starting quarterback.
