Iowa opens the Big Ten softball tournament in Ann Arbor against Ohio State. The Hawkeyes are the third seed and played the Buckeyes twice during the regular season. They split the games at home and Iowa coach Gayle Blevins says they didn’t see on of their better pitchers, so it’ll be a big challenge. It will be one and done in this tournament as eight teams take part in a single elimination format. She says they need solid pitching as their defense has gotten a lot better. Blevins says they need to focus on timely hits too, as that’s been a problem. The Hawkeyes won last year’s Big Ten Tournament.
