Success on the field is leading to more business at the ticket office. University of Iowa officials report an increase in ticket sales for the 2004 football season. The Hawkeyes are coming off their second straight top ten finish after capping off a 10-3 season with a victory over Florida in the Outback Bowl. Hawkeye ticket manager David Sandstrum says they’re ahead of their pace on season tickets, student tickets, and single games tickets compared to last year.Iowa sold out five home games a year ago and Sandstrum expects at least that many sellouts this season. He says they know the Iowa State game will sell out and the Ohio State game is already selling well and will sell out before the season starts or shortly after. He says the season opener against Kent State could also sell out.Sandstrum says season tickets remain available and they have adjusted their mini-plans for those who don’t want the full season package. They’re three-game mini-plans that he says you can customize. Single game tickets are on sale for every game expect the September 11th matchup against Iowa State. Tickets for that game will go on sale in July. The Hawks open the season September 4th against Kent State.
