The Triple-A reports gas prices in Iowa are nearing the two-dollar-a-gallon mark. Dawn Duffy of Triple A-Iowa says pump prices are at record levels in Iowa. The average price for a gallon of unleaded is a dollar-96. She says that’s about 50 cents higher than the price this time last year. Duffy says while people are complaining about high gas prices, there’s not been a big change in demand. Triple A officials predict record numbers of travelers this Memorial Day weekend. Triple A estimates 36-point-nine million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home this Memorial Day, which is a four percent increase from travel last Memorial Day weekend.
