Webster City fights flood waters

May 25, 2004 By admin

There’s heavy flooding in many areas of Iowa, including Webster City. It took four hours for volunteers to sandbag an area of homes along a Webster City street last night as the Boone River quickly rose out of its banks. Police, firefighters, city workers, high school students and others toiled with the sandbags to keep out the water. The river’s last reported at 15-point-5 feet. Flood stage is ten feet.
